TRAINING PROGRAMS: FEB-MAR 2020

FUNDAMENTALS OF CREW LEADERSHIP
March 27 – 28: 8:00am-4:30pm
 

This 16-hour course teaches basic leadership skills required to supervise personnel. It discusses principles of project planning, scheduling, estimating, safety, management, and presents several case studies for student participation.

This course is recommended for construction supervisors with two (2) or fewer years of supervisory experience in the field. Individuals with more experience may want to consider the Supervisory Training Program (STP) seminars for supervisors with 2–8 years of experience, or the Project Management course for those with eight plus (8+) years of supervisory experience.

SUPERVISORY TRAINING PROGRAM
Unit 4: Contract Documents
February 7 – 8
 
Unit 4 provides information about contract documents and construction law to help supervisors recognize the roles and responsibilities of all contracted parties, to develop an understanding of how contract documents can be helpful to solve problems and resolve conflicts, and to develop positive relationships between all parties in the construction process.
 
The perfect training for new and experienced superintendents, project engineers, project managers, contract administrators, safety officers and anyone who is interested in improving their supervisory skills!
SUPERVISORY TRAINING PROGRAM
Unit 5: Improving Productivity & Managing Project Costs
March 19 – 21
 
This unit teaches how project estimates are compiled, how to compare actual project costs with those estimated and how to control costs to meet the estimate. This course also details how productivity is measured, how the supervisor plays a major role in increasing jobsite productivity and how a small increase in productivity can have a significant impact on the time and cost of a project.
 
The perfect training for new and experienced superintendents, project engineers, project managers, contract administrators, safety officers and anyone who is interested in improving their supervisory skills!
OSHA 10-HOUR
February 10 – 11: 12:00pm-5:30pm
March 9 – 10: 12:00pm-5:30pm
March 23 – 24: 12:00pm-5:30pm
 
This program complies with OSHA-10 training requirements.
 
Those who successfully complete this training will receive an OSHA-10 Hour card. Successful completion of OSHA 10-Hour meets and exceeds minimum criteria for successful completion of the apprentice requirement for basic safety training.
OSHA 10-HOUR (IN SPANISH)
March 5, 1:00pm-4:00pm & March 6, 8:00am-3:30pm
 
This program complies with OSHA-10 training requirements.
 
Those who successfully complete this training will receive an OSHA-10 Hour card. Successful completion of OSHA 10-Hour meets and exceeds minimum criteria for successful completion of the apprentice requirement for basic safety training.
OSHA 30-HOUR
March 6 – March 14: Fridays & Saturdays, 8:00am-4:00pm
 
This class meets OSHA’s requirements for a 30-Hour construction industry training program.

 

Course contents provide necessary safety task training recommended for all field personnel. This course is designed for individuals involved with completing or overseeing a specific task, from craft workers, crew leaders, safety supervisors, and superintendents.
FIRST AID / CPR
February 14: 12:30pm-4:30pm
March 13: 12:30pm-4:30pm
 
The MEDIC FIRST AID Training Program covers first aid, CPR, AED, blood-borne pathogens, emergency oxygen, and OSHA safety compliance.

 

Successful participants receive basic First Aid/CPR Certification. Successful completion of First Aid/CPR meets and exceeds the minimum requirement for successful completion of the apprentice basic safety training.
FLAGGING
February 14: 8:00am-12:00pm
March 13: 8:00am-12:00pm
 
Participants taking the Traffic Control/Flagger Certification course will learn the basic visual flagging signals, appropriate two-way radio usage and signing and sign setting regulations. By making the worksite safe and keeping traffic moving safely, you minimize liability and road user inconvenience.

 

Successful participants of the flagging training class receive a Flagging Certification.
