JOB DESCRIPTION
Roofer and Waterproofers remove old roof and waterproof foundation walls.
Commercial roofs are generally low-pitched roofs that consist of multiple layers of roofing applied with asphalt, plastic (TPO/PVC), or rubber (EPDM).
Residential roofs are usually steep and the roofing material is mainly asphalt shingles, wood shake, slate or tile. Tools used include hatchets, hammers, pry bars, tin snips, knives and chalk lines.

Work is done in all weather conditions. Heights and roof structures vary. Roofers and Waterproofers must be in good physical and mental condition to lift roofing materials, work in difficult weather, and preform detailed work with a good attitude.
This work can be seasonal and there can be periods of unemployment.
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age and provide proof of high school graduation, GED certificate or NCRC Workkeys-Bronze level or higher.
Classroom Hours: A minimum of 156 hours per year (a minimum of 625 hours) over approximately 4 years.
On-the-Job Training: 4,000 hours (approximately 4 years).
Starting Wage: $20.95 /hr
Journey Worker (graduated): $34.92 /hr

APPLICATION INFORMATION:
Please provide minimum qualifications (#1 and #2) and supporting documents (#3) before the end of the application period you intend to apply.
Application will be rejected if the required documents are not submitted.
- Provide proof of at least 18 years of age.
- Provide proof of high school graduation, GED certificate or NCRC Workkeys-Bronze level or higher.
- Submit documentation for points for ranking placement.
- Points are awarded for: valid drivers license, military, education, certifications, work experience documented on company letterhead and completion of BOLI approved pre-apprenticeship.

IF SELECTED: Applicant will need to attend Roofers Orientation ONLINE (through zoom). An internet connection is required to attend.

Complete the online application and select the date for the next Applicant Orientation.

Attend the Applicant Orientation to learn about the program and determine if you want to move forward with a State application. If you do, you will attend a 2-day safety week which will start the following Monday.

The official BOLI Apprenticeship Registration Agreement Form will be emailed to you upon completion of orientation.

Required Documentation: Proof of age. Documentation for the applicant point system is optional, but more points will get you higher on the qualified applicant list.
5:
All minimum qualification documents must be submitted by noon the Thursday following orientation.
