The Associated General Contractors of America’s Supervisory Training Program (STP) is a construction-specific training curriculum developed, updated and field-tested by and for contractors. This 6-unit certification program focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective front-line manager of people, schedules, equipment and materials.
Each seminar is offered in a two day format on Friday and Saturday.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Associated General Contractors of America’s Supervisory Training Program (STP) is a construction-specific training curriculum developed, updated and field-tested by and for contractors.
This six-unit certification program focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective front-line manager of people, schedules, equipment and materials.
Each seminar is offered in a two day format on Friday and Saturday, 7:30am-5:30pm.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience or pre-approval from the course instructor.

UNIT 1: LEADERSHIP & MOTIVATION
November 1-2, 2024
This unit describes the value of effective supervision of workers and teaches how to improve one’s ability to lead and motivate others.
UNIT 2: COMMUNICATION
December 6-7, 2024
This unit presents knowledge and skills that today’s construction supervisors need in order to be effective communicators on their job site.
UNIT 3: PLANNING & SCHEDULING
January 10-11, 2025
This unit helps construction supervisors understand ways in which planning and scheduling saves time and money, while increasing quality in the construction process.
UNIT 4: CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
February 7-8, 2025
This unit provides information about contract documents and construction law to help supervisors recognize the roles and responsibilities of all contracted parties.
UNIT 5: IMPROVING PRODUCTIVITY & MANAGING PRODUCT COSTS
March 7-8, 2025
This unit teaches how project estimates are compiled, how to compare actual project costs with those estimated and how to control costs to meet the estimate.
UNIT 6: RISK MANAGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING
April 11-12, 2025
This unit covers the roles and responsibilities of a construction supervisor in accident prevention and loss control.
